Can I change the charging rates or profiles?
We do not generally recommend that users change the profile settings in NVRAM (or by other means) unless they are required to offer a ‘fixed profile’ to their device in order to prevent the device misbehaving.
Within LiveViewer you can set this up so that only your hub only has one charging profile, you can change the charging thresholds to whichever limit you desire.
This can also be achieved in the API also.
Dedicated charging profiles.
To ensure attached devices charge at their optimum rate, our smart USB hubs come with six intelligent charging profiles built in:
1. 2.1A : 10W. (Apple)
2.BC1.2 Standard : 1.5A: Covers most Android phones and other devices
4. 2.1A : 10W. Apple and others with longer timeout
5. 1.0A : 5W. Typically used by Apple
6. 2.4A : 12W. Typically used by Apple
Enter the Advanced settings
Open LiveViewer click on the hub you want to edit the profile settings for and and enter the ‘ADVANCED’ area (highlighted in yellow here)
There are different options available to edit here.
If you click on the one you want to change it will expand as shown in yellow below.
This is ideal for dead devices as it can be adjusted to deliver a trickle charge as needed.
This enables you to select the lowest charge rate, usually at the end of the cycle.
You can edit each port of the USB hub profiles (as detailed above) or all ports in one go. Select from the dropdown list.
Use 0 for smart charging and the default profile.
