ITAD Summit hit different. Why smaller shows deliver the biggest return

Hot off the back of ITAD Summit 2026 in Las Vegas, our CEO, Andy Jones, shares his key takeaways and why he thinks this is one of the most exciting and most overlooked markets in tech today.

After years of going to Vegas to attend CES, with the global brands delivering polished mega-stands, the ITAD industry show hit different.

2000 attendees, 1% of the size of CES.

That breeds community. And it means you’re always talking to the decision maker. Business gets done, fast.

This is an industry that celebrates its people, and sees business and entrepreneurship as fun. We laughed like drains the whole week.

Cambrionix were strangers to ITAD a couple of years ago, and now it feels like we’re part of the furniture. Genuine warmth wherever we turned. Businesses introducing us to other businesses, just because they wanted to, no strings.

In three decades of trade shows, I think this is #1 for new business delivered. We agreed on 10+ new customers to work with us for the first time in a couple of days.

Why?

  1. This is an industry built on the shoulders of can-do self-starters. Who’ve innovated iteratively over the years - but there’s still a huge amount of inefficiency in the workflows, and a lot of process gaps, inefficient handoffs and ‘that’s just how we’ve always done it’ type of chats, followed by ‘I didn’t know that was possible, sign me up!'
  2. Customer-centric pain relief – our Product team has done a stellar job solving some of the industry's biggest known pain points; processing Macs used to be a genuine headache, now it’s one-touch simple.
  3. Win-win no-stress commercials. We’ve removed the barrier to entry to near $0, we share the ROI upfront, and the customer absorbs zero financial risk. We make our money only as a sliver of the customer's newly expanded unit profit.
  4. Expertise - we truly are the best in the world at what we do, and know what we’re talking about.
  5. Partnerships - Blancco and Cambrionix have built a professional, pragmatic, proactive partnership with both businesses benefiting.
  6. IRL demos - words are great, but only when customers see the solution IRL does the penny fully drop.

And some other observations:

  • One-touch workflows with humans-in-the-loop and fast, reliable, and intelligent infrastructure-as-a-service kill the Capex economics of a full robotic solution that costs $MMs.
  • Our North Star must be built around one-touch workflows - a world where the customer just connects devices, that’s it. The workflows today are fragmented, and money siphons out of these businesses in the gaps, the hand-offs.
  • There is no data in this industry that enables organisations to efficiently and proactively audit performance (desk 1 vs desk 2, site 1 vs site 2) to truly understand what’s going on in their facilities. This goes beyond surfacing data and beyond insights into proactive actions, powered by AI. It’s about poring through millions of loose threads and simplifying (automating) actions to make the business better every day. The best in breed will never ever stop making marginal gains.

Summarily, we worked hard, had a lot of fun, built long-term relationships with good people and had learning conversations that will help shape the future product strategy here at Cambrionix. Until next year, thanks to everyone who made it such a worthwhile trip.

Reflections from Andy Jones, CEO at Cambrionix, drawing on key takeaways from ITAD Summit 2026, the ongoing partnership with Blancco, and numerous industry meetings over the last few years.
